Buying Test Automation Software
-
Feedback from our users in the market was loud and clear...
"Keep It Simple".
We simply offer TALC2000 with 5, 10, 15, 30 and 50 user
licenses for each testing site.
Whether you want to use those licenses to test your legacy
applications on IBM, Unisys or other mainframes or on
DIGITAL, HP or other mid range or UNIX platforms we don't
mind. In fact we hope you will make use of TALC2000 for all of
them because you can.
When or if you want to increase the number of licenses simply
pay the difference between the user licenses plus a small admin
fee.
To keep it even simpler some of our partners have put together
special packages for specific platforms that make life even easier.
Contact us to find out more.
Dont forget to include details of the application platforms environments
you want to test applications on and how many testers you are going
to need.

Annual Maintenance and Upgrade Costs
-
What Upgrade costs? We have a standard 15%
Annual Licence
Fee which automatically provides all software maintenance,
upgrades and even new versions as well as all software
support.
We like to ensure our customer’s test teams always have access to the latest
developments to make their job easier and more productive.

Training Costs
-
"Training for our testers consisted of an internal 2 hour
presentation on how TALC2000 worked ... we have been
productive almost since day 1" ....flight or fantasy?
Not to Jim Longano, who has a very effective team of 60
technically skilled testers using TALC2000.
Our standard two day training course very effectively teaches
novice testers about testing and using TALC2000 so they are
productive almost immediately.
All training is fully documented, and formal exercises use a
supplied "Host Application Emulator" that runs stand alone on
the training PC.
Easy to use and learn means you can effectively enlist almost any
of your business users and analysts who understand your
applications as productive testers. Try doing that with the typical
test automation tool...

Consultancy Costs
-
"For some testing tools it costs organisations more over
five years for consultancy to help use the tool than it did to buy
it in the first place."
TALC2000 typically requires at most one day of on site consultancy to discuss its best
use for your testing environment. For many users there will be no consultancy
requirement. The software can be installed by any capable PC user.

|
-
Multi-platform Costs
-
"Host dependent tools are seldom, if ever, cost effective
when compared with a true multi-platform test
automation tool in organisations with more than one
platform to test applications on."
Many tools only run on one platform only yet most organisations
have to test applications on more than one platform, e.g. their
IBM mainframe and their AS400 or DEC, HP, DG or UNIX
systems.
TALC2000 can be used to test character based applications on
most mainframes and midrange systems.

Tester Productivity Costs
-
"While a tester is learning how to use the tool effectively
there is little or no productivity."
Many testing tools take weeks or months to learn to use
effectively during which time you are paying good money for
little or no results. Multiply this by number of testers over five
years and it quickly adds up. This is what allows some people with specialist
testing tool skills to demand very high rates, and why few skilled
people are available.
Experience has shown that TALC2000 testers typically can be productive in
a matter of 1 or 2 days following training. What is more important it
allows you to add more productive testers to a project at short notice.

-
Tester Sourcing Costs
-
"Most testing tools require a sophisticated understanding
of programming in the testing environment."
This restricts your source of productive testers to high priced and
increasingly scarce, experienced programmers and contracted tool
experts.
TALC2000 doesn’t have this restriction, your business analysts
and business users can be your best and least expensive source of
testers.
Using TALC2000 doesn’t require programming skills.
