TALC2000 test creation is fast and simple. You can create your tests
using your existing application software prior to the application
of year 2000 changes and use those same tests unchanged to test after
the changes are made.

Test Creation
-
Test creation is simple. You input a test case manually once,
and TALC2000 records everything that you do.
Recording application responses from your test requires a
single mouse click on a button on the TALC2000 floating
toolbar.
Completed tests are saved by adding them to a "Menu" of
test cases. The menu displays a test number and a test name.
At no time do you need to use cryptic file names.

Simple test case management
-
The TALC2000 "Menu" system helps you to organize and
manage your tests.
You can create as many test "Menus" (test repositories, for the
technically inclined) as you want, with each "Menu"
designed to contain a group of related tests.

Simple test case editing
-
If an error is identified in the captured test case through incorrect test input, there is no
need to re-record the test. A simple "pop up" editor allows easy corrections to test
input data. If required, application output can also be easily edited using a full screen
image editor.

"Point and Click" Scripting
-
Individual test cases can (and should) be kept small, designed to test a single function.
Individual test cases are then linked using a very simple "point and click" scripting
tool, so that multiple test cases (and scripts) can be re-run as though they were created
as a single test recording.
|

|
-
Dynamic Linking
-
Script execution links all test cases dynamically, so that the latest version of the test
case is always used. Scripts do not need to be edited or recompiled to support this
feature.

Powerful date processing routines
-
TALC2000 allows you to input data to your test by selecting
a function from a Windows "List Box". When this feature is
used, the data selected is treated as a variable that is
re-evaluated each time the test is run. This feature is
typically used for input of transaction dates.
TALC2000 has many date functions already set up, but
additional functions can be created at any time by writing
small (4 or 5 line) "programs" which access a set of powerful
date processing routines provided.
Creating these additional functions does require limited
programming skills, but once created these new functions
can be selected by the user from the "List Box" mentioned
earlier.
Test cases created using these functions can be automatically
re-run and validated using different dates simply by setting a
single date variable before test re-run. No test case editing
is required.

Installation specific configurations
-
An extremely powerful feature of TALC2000 is the
functional support provided to "tailor" installation specific
date handling requirements.
All Year 2000 specific date processing is controlled by a set of table files that can be
set up at installation. Creation and maintenance routines for these table files are
implemented as full Windows programs, providing ease and flexibility for the setup
process.
