TALC2000 test validation is done both in real time and also offline.
The offline validation and reporting facilities expedite the analysis
of errors and provision of documentation that simplifies the effort
to communicate errors to the repairers.

Test Validation
-
All test output is logged for "off line" validation reports.
Fully automatic test validation is done by comparing test
output to "control" data.
Test validation options allow detailed or summary displays
of test results. If "Summary" is selected, a "drill down"
feature allows individual scripts and test cases to be expanded to
display all test output and control data.
The validation program provides multiple display formats to
allow easy analysis and documentation of failed tests. All
errors are highlighted.
"Tester's comments" may be added to error reports, to aid in
documenting errors.
"Control" data can be updated automatically following test
execution if test functions have changed, providing "one
click" test maintenance.

Test Reporting
-
All the results of test runs are kept in detailed log files for later
analysis and review. The reports and logs kept include:
- Menu Test Case listing by "menu" which reports all menu
test entries, their descriptions, associated test files and
optionally user written test case information.
- Keystroke listing which lists the TALC2000 keystrokes,
mouse and message operations associated with a
particular menu entry.
- Substitution Control File listing which reports the
substitution control data for a particular test case
including the description, type of variable, length etc.
- Test Execution History Log is provided in both summary and detail
form. Summary form provides for each test case the start and end date
and time together with the test menu used, test case description,
pass/fail status, and execution reference date (which may be different
from the run date). The detail report provides in addition to the above
a listing of each captured screen and the associated key strokes
before and after the capture, along with the Process Step Time
(the HOST response time).
- Event/Action History Log which highlights any
"events" which have been actioned during the test.
- Full Test History Report which details the history of all
test/script runs. This report can be exported as an ascii
file to be used with project management software
should that be desired.
